Check In Procedure
Swimmers should let the coaches know when they arrive at a meet. The coaches will tell them when to get in the pool for warm-ups. Make sure they know which events they are in, including heat and lane assignments. They can be marked on the arm as seen below. FYI - Heat sheets are typically created, printed, and posted immediately before the meet due to last minute changes. Don't panic!
Volunteers can check in at the scorers table in the kiddie pool area for home meets. For away meets just look for the volunteer coordinator who will likely have a bunch of stopwatches and be hunting people down.
Psych Sheet
A Psych Sheet is a list of swimmers competing in a meet with their assigned events. They do not show heat and lane assignments. These are used in most meets, and are typically sent out prior to the meet. They are also a good way to check and make sure your swimmer knows what events they are swimming prior to race day.
Heat Sheet
This is the printed listing displayed before and during a meet that tells swimmers what events they will compete in. It also defines the swimmer's lane assignment per event. Lanes are typically assigned based on seed times, with the fastest swimmers in the center of the pool. Events are listed in order usually alternating girls and boys events. Relays also list the swimmer order.

Weather Policies
Meets are not canceled due to chilly weather, rain or the possibility of storms. Thunder or lightning demands a 30 minute delay and a cancellation may occur. Please do not skip or leave a meet unless you have been notified that it has been canceled. If your swimmer is on a relay and you leave, the other swimmers on that relay are unable to compete and are disqualified from that event. Please talk to a coach if you must leave a meet early for any reason. You will be alerted (via SwimTopia) as soon as we know a meet has been canceled.
